Violent Weekend Ends with 4th Homicide Within 24 Hour Period

Utility workers cut up a power pole that was involved in this homicide scene.

NE Albuquerque –

Around 10:30PM, Albuquerque Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash into a power pole at the intersection of Tahiti and Morenci Avenue NE. A male victim had a suffered at least one gunshot wound and crashed into the utility pole. Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and took the victim to UNMH. He died of his wounds a short time later.

This was the fourth homicide over a violent weekend in Albuquerque. Compared to last year, Albuquerque also had 47 ABQ metro homicides by our count.

For 2022, Albuquerque is now at 47 homicides. Below is the map of where they have all occurred in the city.
