Albuquerque –

On June 24th, 2026, an Albuquerque Police Department Proactive Response Team officer was patrolling the War Zone when he observed an Infiniti SUV with suspended license plate and registration. The SUV was occupied by a male driver and female passenger. He saw the vehicle near the intersection of San Pedro and Bell SE.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and initially the SUV was going to pull over but then decided to flee. The SUV then collided with a vehicle while traveling southbound. The SUV then took out some fencing at the Jack and Jill Park and it lost one of it’s wheels. While driving on three wheels, the vehicle then turned north onto California St.

Two occupants bailed from the disabled vehicle and started to run from police. A female later identified as 43-year-old Elisia Jaramillo was quickly apprehended by police. The male was able to get away from APD. Subsequently during the search for the suspect a few neighbors matched the clothing description of the suspect and were detained. They were released after not being the suspect.

According to the police report, APD officers questioned Jaramillo and she stated she she received a ride from the male and his name was “Jesse.” She was told by “Jesse” to just run away and she complied because she said she was scared.

Jaramillo was issued a criminal summons for leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer.

The innocent victim of the first crash was checked out by AFR for injuries.

APD is looking into who this “Jesse” man is and we will update this story if we learn anymore.
