“WHO da rat” Murder Suspect Charged with 2 Homicides

On June 15th, 2022 around 11:50PM, The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office received calls about a male that was shot at 4400 Coors Blvd SW at the Circle K. Witnesses say the male was shot in the head and torso. He was transported to UNMH where he died.

According to a criminal complaint, Adrian Sanchez was identified as the suspect in the case and is accused of shooting and killing Timothy Johnson. Sanchez drove his vehicle toward Johnson at the gas station. Sanchez is then seen exiting the vehicle and firing at Johnson. The victim falls to the ground and Sanchez kicks him and removes personal possessions from Johnsons fallen body.

Bernalillo County Sheriff detectives used witness statements, warrants to social media companies, and call logs to piece together their case against Sanchez. Sanchez was arrested by a United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force for outstanding warrants reference the two murder cases.

In a detective interview, Sanchez said Johnson (SIC) “have a lot of beef with a lot of people because they go around flexin'” and claiming gang affiliations.

The complaint goes on to say BCSO detectives learned Sanchez is also implicated in a May 5th, 2022 homicide that APD is investigating. That incident happened at 202 Garcia SE where the victim was also shot. In the May 5th, 2022, criminal complaint it alleges Sanchez shot a male multiple times and in social media messages to friends he claimed it was in self defense for a robbery . Sanchez later wanted people to call in false witness statements to officials.

Sanchez is currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center and has (2) first degree murder charges pending. Albuquerque now has 90 homicides in 2022 this is 17 murders ahead of 2021 numbers by our count.
