Court documents show that around 12:20 PM on May 18, 2026, deputies from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported drive-by shooting at a home in the 1900 block of Sanchez Rd SW. Investigators say the victims had recently returned from a hotel after an earlier incident involving the same suspect, Ryan Davis.

According to the complaint, a 58-year-old woman told BCSO deputies she had just arrived home with her 26-year-old daughter and two young children when she received a warning call from a friend saying Davis was headed to their residence on Sanchez Rd. The family had been staying away from the home after Davis allegedly committed kidnapping and aggravated assault with a firearm against them on May 16.

The complaint details that the 58-year-old woman walked across the street to pay rent to her landlord shortly after arriving home. As she returned, she reportedly saw Davis riding a motorcycle while armed with a handgun. The 58-year-old woman took cover behind her Toyota Highlander as a shot was fired toward the residence.

The 58-year-old woman informed the deputies that Davis had to extend his right hand across his body, traveling east on Sanchez Rd SW, to fire the round toward the house on the north side of the road. Davis then turned around and began traveling west on Sanchez Rd SW. As Davis was fleeing, he said, “I’m going to kill you bitch.”

The 26-year-old woman was placing the children into car seats in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and ducked for cover before driving away with the children. The 58-year-old woman remained at the scene and called 911.

BCSO deputies later recovered a .45-caliber shell casing from the roadway, according to the complaint.

The complaint says Davis fired a handgun toward the two women and the children while riding a motorcycle in the driveway of the residence. Davis has been charged with Shooting at or from a motor vehicle, Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon (x2), and Child Abuse (x2).
