Edgar Cut Man Hocks Loogie at Police Horse and Catches Charges

Albuquerque –

On June 13th, 2026, the Albuquerque Police Department mounted patrol unit was tasked with crowd control in Downtown Albuquerque during the night time hours. According to a criminal complaint, 20-year-old Santiago Cazares is now being charged with spitting at one of the police horses.

The complaint states that Cazares walked close to the police horse and spit a “loogie” at his direction. The officer asked if Cazares intentional did that and Cazares replied that he did spit at the horse.

The officer tried to detain Cazares and he started running wild in the streets of Albuquerque trying to evade capture. Mounted patrol and uniformed officers were able to get Cazares into custody.

Cazares was charged with injury to a police dog or horse, resisting and evading police, and disorderly conduct.
