$10,000 Reward Offered by FBI for Information on Ruidoso Fires

Albuquerque –

The FBl’s Albuquerque Field Office is assisting local, state, federal, and tribal partners with the ongoing investigation of the fires near Ruidoso, New Mexico.

The South Fork Fire and Salt Fire were discovered on June 17, 2024. Law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the cause of these fires.

If you have any information concerning this case, please contact the FBI’s Toll-Free tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800•225-4324).

You may also contact your local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or you can submit a tip on line at tips,fbi,gov.

The fire has burned over 16,000 acres, destroyed 1,500 structures and contributed to at least 2 people’s death.

  1. The world junior rocket had their annual convention at the spaceport that afternoon. They were having rocket flights all day . The winds that day were blowing over 45-50 mph. Could one have been blown off course or malfunction?
