AFR Battles and Extinguishes Structure Fire at Boarded-Up Home

Albuquerque –

At approximately 4:20 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) responded to a working structure fire at 301 Cagua Dr. NE involving a single-story boarded-up residence.

Upon arrival, crews identified potential hazards due to the building’s condition and suspected the presence of a basement. After a primary search, it was confirmed there was no basement, only a crawlspace. AFR personnel conducted a thorough sweep of the structure and confirmed no occupants were inside.

Firefighters successfully contained the fire, preventing any extension to nearby buildings or homes.

  1. That house was so much worse than the Google picture. City code enforcement had shut it up and fenced it. Just don’t like the fact that homeless are torching things in the neighborhood.
