Albuquerque –
On December 22nd at approximately 1:50 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 7300 block of Yorktown Ave NE for reports of a possible structure fire at a single-family dwelling. Engine 20 arrived on scene and reported working fire conditions emanating from the side entrance of the house. Engine 20 discovered that a tree was on fire on the side of the residence. Engine 15 arrived to assist with deploying handlines and securing a water supply.
AFR units began investigating inside of the residence on the delta side (right), where they observed that the fire had spread to the inside of the dwelling. Rescue 15 searched and cleared the structure. Damage to the structure was confined to the exterior wall and the adjacent living room.
Engine 20 extinguished the blaze within 15 minutes of their arrival. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
A cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental at this time. It is unknown if the owners or residents of the property were displaced due to this fire.
