The Albuquerque Police Department is presently investigating a fatal shooting in the vicinity of Louisiana and Menaul. APD has Menaul blocked off between Louisiana and Pennsylvania. APD was requesting more units to block off near Chama and Menaul. APD reported that ShotSpotter activity was recorded in this area at 5:28 AM.
According to APD, a witnesses called 911 to report the crash around 5:30 AM. Responding officers and rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the driver of the vehicle was determined to be deceased.
We have gotten two messages from people passing by this location saying there was a dead body near an orange vehicle near Menaul and Louisiana. Another individual has informed us that there are at least three areas where crime scene tape is up between Pennsylvania and Louisiana, and police are investigating. A witness reported that a bullet casing was found in the IHOP across from Menaul and Dallas, the IHOP is adjacent to the PresNOW.
The Albuquerque Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Specialists are being requested to investigate this fatal shooting as a homicide. APD’s mobile crime scene van is staged at Chama and Menaul.
All three eastbound lanes of traffic on Menaul Blvd are blocked between Chama St. and Pennsylvania St.

So nice to read refreshing news. Crimes are commited but the criminals are caught. My condolences to all who were harmed by these events. Usually, what we hear is bad news with no resolution.
