Albuquerque –
Albuquerque Fire Rescue is responding to a working fire at 6302 Harper Pl NE. According to scanner traffic, dispatch is receiving reports of potentially trapped victims. AFR has deployed numerous units to the scene and has reassigned units from other incidents to combat this fire.
At the time of this posting, Engine 15 is reporting that some of the fire has been knocked down.
While traveling to the blaze, we heard AFR discussing how the fire appeared to be traveling through the attic spaces. When we arrived on the scene of the fire, we observed multiple AFR units focusing on an upper-level apartment unit. We saw smoke still emanating from the unit, and a firefighter was seen pulling more lines up the stairs. There was also an additional AFR ladder unit above the apartment from the opposite side.

Two women approached our reporter and said they observed AFR pull a pet from that particular unit and the pet was reunited with the homeowner, who was not home at the time of the fire.
We are waiting for a formal update from AFR and will update you when we learn more.
