225 Cardenas NE

On Monday, November 18th, 2024, at approximately 10:24 AM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 225 Cardenas NE in response to reports of a potential residential structure fire. Engine 11 arrived at the scene and confirmed the presence of smoke and fire within the abandoned single-family dwelling.

The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes of the firefighters’ arrival. No reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters were received. The residence is uninhabitable and the property owner was not present at the scene. It is believed that the abandoned house was occupied by squatters.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by AFR’s Arson Division. No further information is available at this time.
