Albuquerque – Since 2015, 26-year-old Christian Wood has caused chaos in Albuquerque by stealing vehicles, drug possession, aggravated assault upon a police officers, and most recently shooting at police during his encounters.
Today, the Albuquerque Police Department arrested Christian Wood, who last month on January 24th fired his gun at APD officers after they caught him stealing a car and attempting to dismantle another city-owned bait vehicle.
During a perp walk to the Prisoner Transport Center he was in seen cuffs being escorted by 2 APD officers. When asked by ABQ RAW, “Why did you shot at the cops?” He looked forward into the distance then immediately looked down in shame.

On January 21, 2023 Wood stole an APD bait-car in the area of Gibson and Yale. Wood is known to Auto Theft Detectives as a repeat auto theft offender with violent tendencies and multiple outstanding felony warrants.
On the night of January 21st, Wood, who has 14 outstanding felony warrants, along with two other suspects, drove to the area of 1200 Dickerson where he made attempts to dismantle the bait car. While at that location, Wood stole another vehicle and fled the area.
As detectives were able to track that vehicle down, at the intersection of Copper and San Mateo, Wood pointed a black firearm at detectives and fired one shot.
On the afternoon of February 2nd, 2023, Detectives with the Investigative Services Division along with Tactical officers located Wood barricaded inside a residence at 3304 Delamar Avenue N.E. As officers made contact with Wood, he was again armed with a firearm but was safely taken into custody.
A female was also taken into custody at the property for an outstanding warrant related to a different auto theft case.
Another stolen vehicle was located at the property near Delamar, detectives are working on additional auto theft charges.
Woods is currently charged with Unlawful taking of a Motor Vehicle X2, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and aggravated fleeing from law enforcement among other charges.
At the time of his arrest he had 9 active felony warrants.
