Albuquerque –

On Sunday, October 6th, 2024, at around noon, homicide detectives from the Albuquerque Police Department began investigating a deadly shooting today in the 1000 block of Madeira S.E., near Kathryn Ave.

Officers responded to a 911 call shortly before noon about a man who had been shot. First responders attempted to stabilize him, but he died due to the severity of his injuries.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.

This is the second homicide in the Albuquerque Metro area since yesterday at 10:00 PM. APD Homicide detectives have investigated six homicides in October 2024. However, two of these cases are currently classified as “suspicious,” meaning the final homicide count may change depending on the OMI’s determination on the cause of death.
