Albuquerque –

At approximately 7:40 PM, on February 26, someone called 911 to report a shooting near the 8600 block of Zuni Road SE. The caller said the shooting had purportedly happened about 30 minutes earlier and that bullets had allegedly been fired into their auto mechanic building, which is a block east from the calling location. They also told 911 that someone had been shot in the leg.

APD officers, already in the area for another call, reached the injured person within minutes.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a local area hospital.

APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) took over the investigation. Typically, when APD’s GVRU investigates, the person shot does not have life-threatening injuries. APD may have Zuni closed from Wyoming to Virginia as they investigate and collect evidence.

*UPDATE:

The initial publication stated 8600 block of Zuni SW, it is SE.

  1. I’m own the old gas station on the corner of Wyoming/ Central. I will be converting it to a Shell station
Apparently they pulled an OD victim out of my carwash last week. I’ve been begging PNM for months to fix their transformer so I can get power on – No power no remodel.
