Albuquerque –
On March 3rd, 2025, the Albuquerque Police Department received a call about a burglary suspect and attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect ran from the police near the intersection of Louisiana Blvd and Southern Ave SE.
APD established a perimeter around the area and began to try to locate the suspect in various businesses and among neighboring homes. After a methodical search, APD found the subject near the 630 block of Alcazar hiding in a backyard.
APD gave him several warning commands that a K9 would be sent in to apprehend him. The felony suspect ignored the commands, and the fur missile was sent in. APD was able to take the man into custody after the K9 was sent in and chewed the man up a bit.
Shortly after, the suspect was taken to the street where he pleaded his case to be taken to the hospital for a mild case of incarceritis. The man could be seen crying and wailing to law enforcement and fire/rescue professionals about his ailments. AFR did not deem his symptoms to be strong enough to transport to a hospital, and he was shuffled to the back of a patrol unit.
An APD Crime Scene Specialist came to document his bite marks from the K9, and he was taken to jail to be booked on a host of felony charges. We will update the story when we get booking information.
UPDATE:
Edwin Gomez Rivera, 37-year-old of Albuquerque. Booked on possession of controlled substance, breaking & entering, felony warrant, resisting/evading/obstruction an officer, and obstructing movement.
Why do you have to be so crass? What good does it do? I’m glad you reported it and I would like to know more of the details but I don’t want to read the trash talk.

The way they “report” things is more suited for FB! @ABQRAW is not a professional news organization or team idk whatever they wanna call themselves. They add their own opinions as apposed to just reporting what’s going on in a solid and unbiased way. That’s one of the things people complain is wrong with more mainstream media. That they don’t report on the facts of a story they spun the story. I think of YouTube and the click bait that is notorious on there. @ABQRAW very rarely if ever respond to these posts or even direct emails.
