APD Officer Involved in Crash in War Zone, No Serious Injuries Reported

Albuquerque –

On September 1st, 2026, around 11AM, an Albuquerque Police officer was on her way to a call in the War Zone when a crash happened at California and Cochiti in the War Zone.

While on scene, we saw a (INSERT white Car) and a marked APD unit completely totaled. Albuquerque Fire Rescue checked on both drivers, and no one was transported.

Witnesses on scene told us the the officer “fucked up” and could have killed the guy. We also received an email from a witness who claimed that the APD officer was speeding through the intersection without her lights on, and the other driver was already halfway through it.

APD Communications Director Gilbert Gallegos said an officer was leaving one incident and starting to respond to another incident when they were T-boned by another vehicle. The officer was injured and is being treated for their injuries.
