A supervisor immediately requested an ambulance to check on the two officers. As the officer continued speaking with a supervisor and dispatch, they sounded out of breath after purportedly narrowly avoiding the oncoming vehicle and referenced the possibility of criminal charges.

We reached out to APD for additional details. We were advised that officers were dispatched to a residence in the area to conduct a welfare check after reports that an individual was causing a disturbance.

At some point, a suspect reportedly crashed another car into two APD patrol units. The suspect initially fled the scene but later returned and was taken into custody.

According to APD PIO Detective Chase Jewell, no serious injuries were reported, but officers were evaluated as a precaution.
