APD Open Space Officers Arrest Suspected Bosque Arsonist

Albuquerque –

On the morning of Saturday, June 21, 2025, an Albuquerque Police Department lieutenant from the Northwest Area Command observed a fire near Alameda and the Rio Grande. He also spotted an individual believed to be responsible for starting the fire. The Real Time Crime Center and the use of drones, officers launched a coordinated search for the suspect.

APD captured the suspect identified as Sean Taylor, 45, of Albuquerque.

APD is currently investigating whether the suspect may be connected to two other fires reported in the Bosque area since Thursday, however at this time, they do not suspect him in the other two fires.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue was able to contain the fire and they had a crew stay near the area to monitor for any flareups.

According to APD, the Open Space Division is working in close coordination with the District Attorney’s Office to pursue a request for preventative detention in this case.
