APD Responding to a Shooting at Plasma Center

Albuquerque –

APD officers in the Valley Area Command are currently investigating a shooting which occurred at 6211 4th Street NW.

At approximately 4:28 PM, dispatch received a call of a possible shooting at this location. When APD officers arrived, they discover an individual who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable, but critical condition.

According to witness reports, the shooting occurred at CSL Plasma. Reportedly, a man and a woman were at this location when another male started talking to the female, and the male who was with the woman took offense. The two men engaged in a verbal altercation, and at least one of them opened fire. As shots rang out, individuals hurried to seek refuge at Smith’s grocery store. The male shooter fled in a sedan. According to a witness, a 10-year-old called 911. APD detectives are now on the scene, interviewing witnesses.

APD has told us the female and male in this shooting fled the scene and stole a vehicle. They drove across the city and crashed near the zoo. The suspects fled the crash and are still on the lamb.

Details are very limited at the time and we have a reporter at the scene gathering more information.
