APD Responding to Shooting on Route 66

Around 11:15 AM, ShotSpotter recorded 5-6 shots in the area of Central and Charleston. Around 11:20 AM, dispatch received a call reporting an individual who had been shot near the Albuquerque Inn, situated at Central and Charleston.

APD officers arrived and discovered a male victim who had reportedly sustained at least two gunshot wounds. Rescue 5 and Medic 12 arrived on the scene to provide assistance to the individual. They have since transported the male victim to a local hospital.

The victim was in a gold minivan that looked like an impromptu camper. There were items around the van and a bike atop the roof.

We have a reporter at the scene gathering more information and we will update you as we learn more.
