Albuquerque –

Around 5:00 PM, the officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a shooting in the 9200 block of Starboard Rd. NW, near Avalon Park. Emergency medical personnel from Albuquerque Fire Rescue’s Engine 14 and Rescue 14 were dispatched to the listed location.

Upon arrival, APD officers located one individual with at least one gunshot wound. The person was transported to a local area hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

Police have arrested one individual and detained a second person for questioning in connection with the shooting.

If more information is released on this incident, we will update you.

UPDATE:

The individual shot is reportedly in stable condition.

APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) will likely be called out to investigate this shooting. APD has Mainsail Dr NW and Starboard Rd NW blocked off while officers process the scene. Additional road closures are possible.

UPDATE 2:

As of 7:00 PM, APD should be reopening the roads in the area.
