At Least 14 Squatters Found in NE ABQ Home, 1 Arrested on Drug Charges

Albuquerque –

On October 29th, 2026, the Albuquerque Police Department assisted the City Code Enforcement to remove squatters from 3911 Veranda Rd NE. The house had been shut down for more than a week because of substandard living situations.

The Albuquerque Police Department cleared the house and found 14 people living inside the home. One of the individuals was 42-year-old Magdalena Palacio of Albuquerque. She was found to have drugs on her person and admitted they were hers.

Others in the house denied knowing anything about the drugs around the house and were given trespass notices and sent on their way to find another rent free crash pad.

Neighbors celebrated the house being boarded up and cars being towed from the yard by meeting on the sidewalk sharing their stories about the house.

City of Albuquerque Code Enforcement spokesman Timothy Walsh said the house was cited for violations around the property. The owners of the home are Triple R Development LLC based out of Mesa, Arizona.

We will update this story if anything newsworthy happens at this property.
