Albuquerque –
There is deputy-involved activity in the area of 3500 Coors Blvd SW, which is near Coors and Rio Bravo*. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is on scene, and reportedly there was a deputy-involved shooting. While at the scene, we observed a man who was deceased. He was shot and killed after reportedly fleeing from BCSO deputies.
BCSO posted that their deputies along with the BCSO Auto Theft Unit and Metro Unit are at the Walmart on Coors and Rio Bravo for “an ongoing and active investigation.” The release went on to say “details are limited at this time as we work to gather more information. Please avoid the area.”
We have a reporter headed to the scene, we will update you when we learn more information.
UPDATE:
BCSO released a statement which said:
The Multi-Agency Task Force is responding to investigate a deputy-involved shooting near Coors and Rio Bravo near Walmart. All deputies are reported to be ok. One individual was shot, and there are no outstanding suspects. More information on the condition of the involved suspect and additional details will be provided once available.

*The initial publication may have mentioned Coors and Rio Grande. We appreciate our readers’ keen attention to detail. Moving forward, we will exclude cross-streets to keep the focus on the main news we are covering.
Coors & Rio Grande?? Maybe Rio Bravo!!!
I wouldn’t exclude the cross streets. Coors is a huge stretch.
