BCSO Assists Feds During SWAT Raid for ABQ Suspect

Albuquerque –

Most of the afternoon on Monday, Juan Tabo between Copper and Marquette was closed down, as law enforcement from county and federal agencies attempted to force a suspect to exit a home on the corner of Gable St. NE.

The SWAT team from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office surrounded the home and gave multiple public address announcements to the occupant of the home.

On this warm winter day, people from the neighborhood came outside to film the action on their smart phones in the dreaded vertical style. We really appreciate the tips from the fans to let us know about this incident because it got us out of the office.

After a few hours, we eventually saw a man exit the house with his hands up and he peacefully surrendered to the waiting SWAT team.

Juan Tabo north and south bound is shut down as they continue to investigate and make the area safe.

We reached out to BCSO about this incident to see who the suspect was and what charges he has pending. They said they were assisting the United States Marshals in the arrest of the suspect.

We will update this story when we learn more.
