BCSO Investigates Murder After Finding Man Dead from Gunshot Wounds and Burned SUV

Albuquerque, NM-

According to a media release by Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, on October 27, 2022, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car fire on the Pajarito Mesa near the intersection of James Cook Dr and Pajarito Rd SW. Upon arrival, deputies located a fully engulfed SUV, extinguished by Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered a deceased male near the burning vehicle in the ditch bank. The decedent, identified as 30-year-old Samir Rodriguez, died as a result of several gunshot wounds.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes and Homicide Detectives have identified a person of interest in the homicide. This is Albuquerque’s 149th homicide for 2022.
