The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office remains committed to pursuing justice, and starting February 16, 2026, three new jury trials will commence in Bernalillo County.

On February 18, 2026, at 8:30 AM, a jury trial in State of New Mexico v. Nasiah Nevaeh Perea will be held before Judge Emeterio L. Rudolfo in Courtroom 338.
Rico Ortega
Case Number: D-202-CR-2025-02577

In State of New Mexico v. Rico Ortega, Judge Bruce C. Fox will preside over a motion hearing on February 17, 2026, at 1:30 PM in Courtroom 706, and will conduct jury trial proceedings in Courtroom 406 on February 18, 19, and 20, 2026, each beginning at 8:30 AM.

Jury trial proceedings in State of New Mexico v. Jacqulyn Richard will be held before Judge Clara Moran in Courtroom 402 on February 16, 17, and 18, 2026, each beginning at 8:30 AM.
Courts presume that the defendant is innocent unless and until the prosecution secures a conviction through due process. This means the defendant remains legally not guilty unless the prosecution proves the charge beyond a reasonable doubt and a jury returns a verdict of guilty.
