Criminal Cretins Caught with Large Cache of Weapons

In the early morning hours of October 1, 2025, detectives with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Unit, working alongside members of the U.S. Marshals Service, conducted a proactive operation in Albuquerque targeting a wanted fugitive believed to be heavily armed and hiding inside a residence at 1076 Betts NE.

Detectives established surveillance and a perimeter around the home before activating the BCSO SWAT team to ensure the safety of both deputies and the surrounding community. According to BCSO, using advanced technology, including drones and a robot, deputies were able to safely clear the residence. Multiple individuals were removed from the home, and two wanted subjects were taken into custody without incident.

During the search, deputies recovered 48 firearms (see attached photo) from inside the residence. The case has since been referred to the FBI for federal charges and further investigation into the source of the weapons and their potential connection to a broader criminal network.

Those arrested include:

Uriah McAfee, 40 (known as “Goofy”) – charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm

Ruben Gonzales, 45 – arrested on multiple outstanding warrants

Sheriff John Allen praised the teamwork and coordination of the operation, noting:

“Taking nearly 50 firearms out of the hands of a convicted felon and criminal networks is a major win for the safety of Bernalillo County. I’m proud of the proactive work our deputies are doing every day alongside our federal partners to take dangerous individuals off our streets and to keep these weapons from being used in further crimes.”

This investigation remains active at the federal level.
