Albuquerque –

Around 11:00 AM, a Beyond Transport Services Crown Victoria was stolen from the 6500 block of Gibson Blvd. SE. The business had a GPS tracker inside the vehicle, and the owners called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the stolen vehicle.

APD was getting updates from the business about its location of their now stolen vehicle and the police were in the process of getting air support and auto theft detectives to capture the offender.

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE:

Eventually, one of the Beyond Transport Services employees took matters into his own hands and boxed in the Crown Vic with another Crown Vic from their business fleet at the intersection of Madeira Dr. and Copper Ave SE. He then detained the suspect until police could arrive. We observed the casual looking employee who stopped the felon. He was wearing Crocs slipper shoes and a, “I’m getting my car back attitude when all of this action unfolded.”

APD officers arrived on the scene and took the male suspect into custody. The employee of Beyond Transport Services was proud of stopping the stolen vehicle.

The Crown Vic was once upon a time a mainstay of government vehicles and built like tanks. The damage to the cars was noticeable, but the two Crown Vics will more than likely be back in service for Beyond Transport Services.

We will update the story when we find out who the suspect is and what charges he faces. We did learn the suspect did try to flee from custody, but was quickly stopped at the scene.
