Around 8:40 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to the area of Paseo del Norte and 2nd Street. According to the app PulsePoint, dispatchers were told that a motorcycle struck the jersey barrier going 100 mph. AFR remained on the scene for approximately 13 minutes.

At 8:52 AM, BCSO sent out a message on X (formerly known as Twitter), saying BCSO Deputies were on the scene of a motorcycle crash at Paseo del Norte and 4th Street. According to BCSO, they said injuries are unknown at that time, however BCSO was shutting down the road at Eagle Ranch and Coors, which prevents anyone from getting onto Paseo.

At the time of this posting, the NMDOT cams show no traffic on eastbound Paseo from Coors to Paseo and Edith. You can view the NMDOT cameras at https://nmroads.com/mapIndex.html?# and at the top, click “Cameras and DMS,” and then on the next screen that pops up, click “view camera list.”

We have a crew headed to the scene to gather more information.

UPDATE:

As of this updated posting at 11:50 AM, the eastbound lanes of Paseo del Norte are back open. BCSO has not said the condition of the motorcycle rider.
