Fatal Shooting Happens at Spirit Halloween Store

Albuquerque –

Around 5:00 PM, a shooting was reported at 2103 Carlisle Blvd, which is the Spirit Halloween Store. The calling party said a security guard shot an alleged shoplifter in the stomach. The caller informed dispatch that the person who had been shot was receiving CPR from bystanders.

Upon arrival, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department discovered a person with a critical gunshot wound.

When Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched, their radio transmission stated the person was in arrest. When AFR arrived, the person was declared dead.

APD’s Homicide Unit will be called to this location to conduct an investigation. The Spirit Halloween Store will be closed due to this situation.
