Albuquerque –
During the lunch hour on May 9th, 2024, the Albuquerque Police Department tracked down a stolen U-Haul truck being driven by an unidentified male at 4001 Coors Blvd NW. The truck parked in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot, and a male exited the vehicle, entering the restaurant. Police identified him as 54-year-old Alfredo Miramontes of Albuquerque.
Miramontes went to get his meal while APD developed a plan of action to take him safely into custody. A testament to Chick-Fil-A’s fast service, his fast-food order was quickly delivered. Miramontes wolfed down his food and exited the restaurant with no care in the world. Witnesses tell us APD took him peacefully into custody, with officers swarming him as he exited the restaurant.
According to a criminal complaint, Miramontes said he got the truck from a lady at a hotel and did not remember what hotel it was. Police also found 30 fentanyl pills on his person.
Miramontes was booked on a felony count of receiving and transferring of a motor vehicle and drug possession.
