Witnesses on scene said they saw uniformed and plain clothes officers running through the Sunport trying to apprehend suspects who had ditched their car in the departure lanes of traffic. Witnesses also said said they saw at least one person being detained by the Albuquerque Police Department at the airport.

We reached out to a Sunport spokeswoman and she said:

There was an incident involving APD at the Sunport this afternoon. There were no impacts at the Sunport,” said Diana Lopez.

We are waiting to hear back from official sources at APD however we did learn that the suspect who fled would be charged with motor vehicle theft and aggravated fleeing from the police.

We will have more of a story if we learn anything more about this.
