Two Charged with Stealing a Car and an Attempted Airport Getaway

On December 11th, 2025, we told you about a car that fled from the Albuquerque Police Department and ended up at the Albuquerque Sunport with police chasing the suspects through the airport. The duo arrested shocks no-one since they appear to be the usual suspect type who would cause a chase throughout Albuquerque. The suspects appearance cater to our fans as they were sporting the burque style broccoli and Edgar style hairstyles.

We obtained the criminal complaint from the incident. It discloses that 20-year-old Ivan Cordova (Edgar haircut) and 22-year-old Leonardo Montana (broccoli haircut) of Arizona caught the eye of the Albuquerque Police Department’s auto theft unit, as they were driving around in a stolen truck.

The complaint says they were making stops around Albuquerque and an Albuquerque Police Department marked unit attempted to pull the truck over but it fled away at a high rate of speed and began driving like bats out of hell into on coming traffic. Air support was available and assisted with locating the vehicle, and they noted it reached speeds of up to 100 mph.

Cordova and Montana made a last ditch effort of escape by trying to get to the Sunport. It is unclear if they were trying to live out a movie scenario where they would bypass all security points and jump onto a flight back to Arizona to avoid arrest. The pair challenged officers and they used force to take the duo into custody.

The complaint goes on to say Montana spoke with officers and said he came to Albuquerque via a Greyhound bus two days ago. He said he did not know Cordova and they were driving around town to try to buy an engine.

Montana was found with cocaine on his person. Cordova played it safe and did not speak to officers.

Montana was charged with possession of a controlled substance, receiving/transferring a stolen motor vehicle, resisting evading or obstructing an officer, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Cordova was charged with aggravated fleeing law enforcement, reckless driving, resisting evading or obstructing an officer, receiving/transferring stolen motor vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
