Man Fires Multiple Rounds into War Zone Home, Rams his Truck into Police to Escape

Albuquerque –

On April 15th, 2025, at around 5PM the Albuquerque Police Department received a call about shots being fired at a residence. They got word a newer model GMC Denali truck was circling the 500 block of Charleston St. SE. The driver fired at a residence and then took off at a high rate of speed. He then encountered two people at the intersection of Trumbull and Charleston. He pointed the gun towards them and tried fire it at people he knew. The gun apparently ran out of ammo and he fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

The driver has since been identified as 52-year-old Jose Ramos of Albuquerque. APD was able to locate the vehicle in the ABQ war zone and they attempted a traffic stop. Ramos fled the traffic stop and drove erratically through the neighborhood. He crashed near a fence beside Van Buren Middle School and then started ramming patrol vehicles to evade capture.

Ramos was taken into custody and also inside the truck was his friend Jonathan Vela of Albuquerque. Both were extremely intoxicated. Officers observed a black 9mm handgun in plain view inside the truck.

While on scene Ramos was quite chatty with officers while he was being evaluated by rescue. He was so drunk that he had mocos all over his face and no care in the world about it.

Ramos and Vela were both charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery upon a peace officer, shooting at a dwelling, aggravated fleeing law enforcement, negligent use of a deadly weapon, and battery upon a peace officer.

    1. You would know, that is the first thing that would come to your mind, and the primary thing you’d feel the need to express. As you’ve already demonstrated, you and him are much alike.

        1. 2 girls 1 cup? I prefer Lemon Party. Just this last weekend I had over a dozen seniors at my party, every one of them over 75. It was amazing! The smell of bengay and sweat in the air…

          1. That was your party?! I was there! I’m the one you said reminded you of your gran, right before you did that thing to me with your tongue. You must REALLY like your gran!

  1. These young ass kids should be charged as an adult any kids that fires at anybody or has a gun depends on using it intentionally need to be charged as an adult and their parents to get charged as well for bad parenting because they learned it from someone and more than anything it probably came from the parents teaching their kids all this violence and gun use criminal activities they do if you ask me basically charging an adult f*** they’re no longer a kid once they start using weapons on people that’s how it should be in this state of love because if you charge him as a teen they’re still going to get out and do the same s*** they did before they’re for when they’re adults they have some kind of sit there and marinate on what the f*** they just did. I get so mad so angry that these little kids are shooting innocent people are committing more crimes than any adult and it’s a lack of parenting and improper raising. And the parents of these kids need to be charged as well for neglect cuz they all listen you didn’t care about what their kids are doing are bothered a check to see what they’re doing and what they’re up to who their friends are and teach your mother they only know what their parents teach them.

  2. They don’t have emergency provisions for laws that are so outdated? If you’re old enough to get a driver’s license then you’re old enough to get an adult charge for whatever you do wherever you are

  4. A tent city prison is needed, and actually keep people there instead of parole them for the 20th time. “Aye, don’t scold mijo, let him do what he wants.” Then they can get the useless local news to cover it, showing them digging holes and filling them back up, or mining for precious metals.

The news can be all- “One could describe it as hot, and miserable… the convicted felons are talking about how they will leave New Mexico after they complete their maximum sentence, to another state or even to meh-he-co. Others felons say how working two Mc Grill jobs, would be gravy train, compared this, and looking forward to being gainfully employed. Local and state leaders talk about how it seems cruel, but when reminded when the Military deployed to Afghanistan in worse conditions in the 130F heat, they get angry, hiss, and leave the room.”
