A crime scene investigator takes photos of a red sedan a male was killed in.
SW Albuquerque –
On September 10th, 2022, around 5PM, the Albuquerque Police Department was called to the intersection of Central and Yucca in regards to a man being shot in a red sedan in the left hand turn lane on east bound Central Ave. When officers arrived they found a male deceased with gun shot wounds. A homicide investigation has been launched.

“It’s probably like, let’s say 15 maybe a minimum of 12. It’s all right by the door,” said a witness who observed the crime scene.
The investigation shut down a large stretch of Central Ave from 52rd Street Ave to Estancia Dr. The homicide investigation made it difficult for people to get to businesses like Sharky’s Fish & Shrimp, Golden Pride, Church’s Chicken and hardware stores.

An APD Chaplain meets with the family of the homicide victim.
The family of the victim was on the north side of the street embracing each other and sharing the news of the murder. In the background, APD was investigating the red sedan and the windshield wipers were still on. The sound of a dry windshield with the wipers could be heard in the area as they went back and forth.
This is Albuquerque’s 122nd homicide of 2022 and there is not any suspect information available at this time.
