ALBUQUERQUE – On Thursday, May 24th, 2024, we heard that there was police activity on Pino NE between San Pedro and Louisiana NE. We went to the scene and noticed crisis trained officers negotiating with a man inside a mobile home on Pino. According to a criminal complaint the barricaded man had earlier beat a family member about the head with her own crutches and she wanted him removed from the home. The family member barely escaped the home with the help of others inside the home and called police. The owner of the home a different family member also wanted the maniac removed because he has a history of mental illness and was not cooperating with family and acting violent. Officers negotiated with the man for a couple hours via cell phone. Police identified the man as Isaiah Chambers. At first Isaiah told police they were gonna have to kill him to remove him but eventually he gave up peacefully. Isaiah was arrested and booked for the aggravated battery to his family member and also an outstanding felony warrant.
