Albuquerque –

Last night on the west side, the metro’s latest homicide occurred. Police say that a man living with his mom and her boyfriend turned violent after the son, identified as Paul Anthony Otero, 34, of Albuquerque, found a gun belonging to the victim, in a bedroom dresser. A criminal complaint says that the victim, lives with the suspects’ mother at a home on Alpha Ct NW. The son, Paul Otero, has also had a bedroom at the home for about three months.

A few minutes after 5:00PM Paul and the victim were arguing because the victim decided he was going to kick Paul Anthony out of the home because “he broke the trust”. Paul’s mom tried to calm the situation down, but Paul ignored her and walked past her. Paul shot the victim several times in the bedroom with the victim’s own gun, killing him instantly.

Immediately after the shooting, life-saving measures were attempted by rescue personnel to no avail, and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Paul Anthony Otero was booked into MDC late Tuesday night on an open count of murder.
