APD Arrests Two Suspects That Murdered Matthew Aragon

Albuquerque –

Today, December 3, 2024, Albuquerque Police Department detectives arrested Adam Perrucci and Preston Ball in connection with the murder of Matthew Aragon.

Through a thorough investigation, homicide detectives concluded that Perrucci, aged 32*, and Ball, aged 25, were responsible for the murder of Aragon in the early hours of November 23, 2024. Aragon’s family reported him missing on November 22 after he failed to return home.

Later, Ball informed Aragon’s sister that he and Perrucci had been present at Perrucci’s residence, situated at 820 Adobe Rd. NW, in the North Valley. Ball asserted that Perrucci had struck Aragon on the head with an unidentified object. Subsequently, Ball claimed that Aragon had been struck with a chair. Perrucci informed Aragon’s sister that Perrucci had placed a plastic bag over Aragon’s head to suffocate him, ultimately resulting in his death.

Later on, detectives discovered that Perrucci and Ball had placed Aragon’s body in the white Chrysler vehicle that Aragon had driven to Perrucci’s residence. On November 23, Perrucci and Ball drove the vehicle with the body to Los Lunas and then left Aragon’s body at a property on Semilla Lane. In due course, detectives conducted a search of the property and discovered the body in the dirt, partially obscured by overgrown vegetation. The body was wrapped in a large blanket, and the head and neck region were wrapped in another material.

According to APD, Perrucci and Ball visited a casino before returning to Albuquerque that same day.

Perrucci and Ball will be booked into the Metro Detention Center on an open count of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence.
