Motorcycle Crashes into Car on 4th Street, Rider in Critical Condition

Albuquerque –

Just before 1PM, the Albuquerque Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a motorcycle vs vehicle crash on the 4300 block of 4th Street NW, which is near Griegos.

When officers arrived they learned a motorcycle traveling southbound on 4th St crashed into a car turning westbound on San Clemente Avenue NW. We observed heavy damage to the back passenger side of a sedan. The rider of the motorcycle was transported to UNMH in critical condition.

A witness told us that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and a car turning did not have time to react to the speeding motorcycle. The witness described the rider as being vaulted over the car and he landed in the southbound lanes of 4th Street.

4th Street is closed down in both directions as APD investigates the scene. We will update you if we hear anymore information.
