Person in Stolen Vehicle Hits Pedestrian, Both Leave Scene. Destroyed Car Left Behind

Albuquerque –

At around 5:30 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and emergency medical personnel from Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a crash at Central and Louisiana. A caller reported that a vehicle struck a pedestrian.

When APD officers arrived, they found that the silver Jeep that hit the pedestrian was possibly stolen, and the driver had already fled. The struck pedestrian also didn’t want to stick around and walked away from the scene while waiting for AFR to provide medical care.

The metro area has had numerous crashes today, with at least four involving pedestrians. Two of the crashes involving pedestrians were fatals.
