Motorcycle Rider Hits and Runs Bicyclist, APD Tries to Capture Suspect in War Zone

Albuquerque –

Around 7PM, a motorcyclist crashed into a bicyclist at the corner of San Pedro and Constitution in the NE part of Albuquerque. The motorcycle rider fled the scene and headed south into the War Zone. APD officers were able to find the suspect and a foot pursuit happened near Cochiti and San Pedro.

APD officers saw the suspect ditch a gun during the the pursuit. While APD officers were trying to capture the suspect the gun was picked up by someone else walking by. Officers tried to locate the firearm and the person who found it during their investigation.

It is unclear if they got the original suspect into custody. Officers did however detain a man at the corner of Cochiti and San Pedro who was wearing orange MDC issued pants. It is unclear if he had outstanding warrants.
