Albuquerque –
At around 12:30 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a car and a motorcycle at Menaul Blvd. and University Blvd. NE.
When officers and rescue personnel arrived, they found the motorcycle rider on the ground in need of medical assistance. AFR provided medical aid at the scene, but the rider was beyond help and died.
APD initiated a fatal investigation callout and began investigating the scene. The area near the intersection was closed for a few hours while investigators pieced everything together.
After the fatal investigation was completed, in a rare moment APD was seen escorting family members to the body of the motorcycle rider. A few touched their loved one for one last time before he was transported to the Office of the Medical Investigator building a few miles south.
We will update this story if we learn any more information.
