While on scene we observed investigators focused on the room, evidence markers could be seen inside and outside of the room. The victim seemed to have fled the room and died a few feet outside the room.
As APD homicide detectives and crime scene investigators combed the area, truck drivers, travelers and other guests watched police work the scene.
We are four days into Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s public health order and the person who murdered this man did not abide by the standing order of no guns in the public. The offender also ignored the hotel policy prohibiting weapons on their premise.
This is the 109th homicide of 2023 in the Albuquerque metro area.
