According to an email, APD homicide detectives are starting an investigation into a fatal shooting in the area of Palomas Dr. and Eastern Ave. in Southeast Albuquerque.

Officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting. A male victim was located with a gunshot wound. First responders attempted life-saving measures but the victim died at the scene.
This is the 43rd homicide of 2024.
