An earlier post had the spelling incorrect of Supper Rock as Super Rock.
Albuquerque –
The Supper Rock neighborhood in the Foothills of Albuquerque was rocked by the latest gun battle in Albuquerque.
Around 11 PM last night, neighbors started hearing bursts of fully automatic gunfire and semi-automatic gunfire. Witnesses tell us the gunfire was not stationary and seemed to be coming from vehicles in the area.
The Albuquerque Police Department was dispatched to the area and it is not clear if any suspects or victims were found. As a precaution, APD notified local hospitals to be on alert for any gunshot victims coming in.
Neighborhood apps indicate that some residents homes were hit by gunfire during last night’s gun battle.
No wonder people from Chicago are FLOCKING to The Burque…. It’s Just Like Being Home
Yea, live down Cloudview on other side of Tramway and definitely heard this. Was in active Army from 2006-10 which is only reason I recognized one of the guns to be an AK, not surprising of course scary for sure tho.
At least a week ago some friends near Comanche heard bursts of semi-auto rifle fire. I found nothing in any official city or APD posts about it….
Wonder if APD has enough “cones”?
Guess they missed the governor’s last assault rifle buyback.
All three local news channels refuse to show this and other stories. We had an active shooter at the McDonald’s Tuesday night firing a gun and was arrested with guns, knife and drugs. This is outrageous. It’s like the war zone where I live near copper, central area.
I guess there’s so much crime that the news stations can’t report it all. Lord help us all.
Can anyone substantiate this? No mention was found on websites for radio stations or the newspaper.
Yes. I heard this first hand. There was a full-auto fired at least 4 times with 25-30 rounds in each burst. There were also a number of pistols fired. Many witnesses in the Supper Rock, Winterwood, and Four Hills subdivisions. This was also on police scanners. You are correct. All other news media is ignoring the 15 minute battle. Because of Balloon Fiesta?
Bingo. They don’t want to “piss in the swimming pool”.
As a reporter or a news outlet, all you care about is good stories that get “clicks” or “views,” and this story would have generated plenty. The pressure to stifle a story like this would have to be coming from somewhere else. if this story is accurate, the pressure to stifle it must be immense to keep it from getting out.
On police scanners – were any GSWs reported, or were any ambulances dispatched to that area? Trying to understand “hundreds” of rounds being fired without any reported injuries or deaths.
I see this shooting happened on Saturday night. Last night, at 1:54 AM, there were more semi automatic rounds fired in the area around i40 between Coors and Rio Grande Blvd. Again, they were moving, and there seemed to be several kinds of guns involved like they were shooting at each other.
There were at least four bursts from a full auto. About 25-30 rounds each burst.
I heard the automatic gunfire. I couldn’t blieve it. How can such a beautiful city have such ugly residents?
That is a lot of lead flying without any reported injuries or deaths. Makes one wonder if it was “battle” or someone just shooting for “fun.”
Import the 3rd world, become the 3rd world.
Make Gallows Great Again.
People like you that think the USA is a 3rd World Nation needs to seriously visit Bangladesh or Sierra Leone. When you have no running water, no local source of food, no electricity, or any of the other amenities you take for granted here you’ll start changing your tune. Gun violence does not a 3rd World Country make, but you can’t expect half brain-dead people to know that.
According to a recent CNN article 13,000 Navaho families in NM live totally off the grid. No electricity, running water or natural gas to heat. Some citizen’s would beg to differ about 3rd world conditions.
