SW Albuquerque – APD has alerted us to the following: “Albuquerque Police Department Officers were dispatched just before midnight to reports of a subject laying in the roadway that appeared to be deceased. Officers originally responded to the area of 98th St SW and Rio Clara RD SW and located a subject who had apparent gunshot injuries. This subject had succumbed to injuries prior to officers and EMS arriving.
This has prompted an APD Homicide Unit Call Out, 98th St SW was shut down north and southbound between Rio Clara and Sacate Blanco during the investigation but has since opened up.
An update will be provided when more information is available.”
This is the 73rd homicide of 2023.
