Albuquerque –
Around 4:50 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department were advised of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash near Lomas Blvd NE and Wyoming Blvd. The reporting party stated that the pedestrian was lying in the lanes of traffic, not moving and bleeding from the head. Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers observed bystanders administering CPR to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to UNMH as a “scoop and run,” indicating life-threatening injuries or critical condition.
Given the severity of the pedestrian’s injuries, APD’s Motor Unit has been called to investigate the crash. Officers have closed Lomas Blvd at Virginia St. Additional closures may occur.
UPDATE:
Just after publication, it was learned that the pedestrian died en route to UNMH.
