Person Taken Into Custody After Stabbing, SWAT Standoff on Central

Albuquerque –

There is police activity on Central between Virginia St and Wyoming Blvd. Earlier today, around 10:30 AM, a woman was stabbed, and the offender fled to an apartment in the area. The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, and she was seen walking to first responders and medical crews.

APD’s SWAT team has been attempting to contact the male by various means, including the phone, to encourage him to peacefully surrender.

Drivers and bystanders should avoid the area.

Shortly after publication, the man was taken into custody. Lanes of traffic in the area have been reopened.
