Albuquerque –
At approximately 5:50 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department were sent to the 430 block of Alcazar St SE. The caller reported that a person had been shot in the upper leg.
Upon arrival, officers applied a tourniquet to the individual’s leg while Albuquerque Fire Rescue was notified and sent to the scene. When AFR arrived, the person was taken to a local area hospital. While their exact condition is unknown, it is not thought to be life-threatening.
Officers conducted a search of the surrounding area for a possible suspect and the scene where the shooting is thought to have occurred.
APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit has been called out to investigate. Alcazar St may be closed between Bell Ave and Zuni Rd while officers and crime scene investigators process the area for evidence.
