Police Search for Suspect After Stabbing Near Bus Stop

Albuquerque –

Just after 10:40 AM, a stabbing was reported at the bus stop at 5338 Montgomery, which is near Montgomery and Madeira Dr NE. The closest major intersection is Montgomery and San Mateo.

The person was reportedly knifed in the neck, but was breathing when officers arrived. Albuquerque Fire Rescue was initially dispatched to transport the person who had been stabbed to a nearby hospital, but the individual decided to self-transport themselves to the hospital after getting impatient with delayed medical response.

The Albuquerque Police Department is attempting to locate an offender who fled the scene.

While on scene, we saw a City of Albuquerque bus stopped in front of the old IRS building, and APD Motor officers were investigating. A witness reported to us that the offender was seen with a white construction hard hat.

If we learn more about the suspect or condition of the person wounded, we will update you.
